AWS certification study plan generator

Pick your exam, your date, and how many hours a week you can actually give it. You’ll get a week-by-week plan built on the official exam guide’s domain weights — heaviest domains get the most weeks, the last week is always a full mock. Free, no signup.

Pick your exam date to generate the plan. Haven’t booked yet? Pick the date you’d like to sit it — a date makes prep real.

Why plans built on domain weights work

AWS publishes exactly how each exam is scored: SAA-C03 is 30% secure design, 26% resilient design, 24% performance, 20% cost. Most people study in service order (EC2, then S3, then VPC…) and run out of runway before the heavy domains. Studying in weight order means a missed final week costs you the least-tested material, not the most. Start with the free diagnostic to find your weak domains, then drill them with the free practice questions. For the full path across all four certs, see the AWS certification path guide.

Common questions

How many weeks do I need to study for an AWS certification?

Most candidates pass the associate-level exams (SAA-C03, DVA-C02) with 6-10 weeks at 6-10 hours per week, and the foundational exams (CLF-C02, AIF-C01) with 2-4 weeks. The honest variable is your starting point — take a diagnostic first, then let the plan allocate time by your actual weak domains, not a generic average.

How does this generator decide what to study each week?

It allocates your weeks proportionally to the official exam guide's domain weights — for example, SAA-C03 is 30% Design Secure Architectures, so roughly a third of your learning weeks go there. Week one is always a diagnostic baseline, and the final week is always a full-length timed mock plus targeted review.

Is 2 weeks enough to pass an AWS certification exam?

For the foundational exams, sometimes — if you already work with AWS. The generator switches to a triage plan under 3 weeks: skip breadth, drill practice questions, find your weak domains fast, and spend the final days only on those. For associate-level exams, 2 weeks is a gamble unless you have hands-on experience.

Should I book my exam date before I finish studying?

Yes. A booked date is the single best predictor of actually sitting the exam — open-ended prep drifts. Book 6-10 weeks out, generate the plan, and let the deadline pull you through it. You can reschedule an AWS exam up to 24 hours beforehand at no cost.
